Vancouver, B.C. -- Smartcool Systems Inc. (TSXV: SSC) generated revenues of $120,373 for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008 compared to revenue of $197,808 for the second quarter ended June 30, 2007. Smartcool revenues rose to $543,036 for the six-month period ended June 30, 2008 from $209,590 for the same period in the previous year, representing an increase of 159 per cent.

Smartcool Systems, whose Smartcool Energy Saving Module (ESM)™ makes refrigeration and air conditioning systems more energy and cost-efficient, recorded a net loss of $1,039,987 for the three-month period ending June 30, 2008 compared to a net loss of $768,358 for the corresponding period in 2007.

"Our six-month revenue growth is indicative of the strong foundation of distribution and sales support that we have laid for our business going forward, "said George Burnes, President and C.E.O., Smartcool Systems Inc. "While second quarter results moderated, we continued to generate momentum by signing distribution agreements in areas such as the UK and Germany and announcing significant new orders in the UK, Middle East and Australia."

Testing by customers, potential customers and independent third parties such as the University of Miami's Department of Industrial Engineering (for Florida Power & Light Company) continues to show that Smartcool Systems' ESM™ reduces operating costs and energy use, and improves margins.

"The benefits of our technology are quantifiable and proven. More companies are recognizing the advantages our ESM™ provides at a time when energy costs are rising and concerns about greenhouse gases and carbon footprints are widespread," added Burnes.
