Vancouver, BCSmartcool Systems Inc. Is pleased to announce its Australian distributor, Smartcool Systems Australia Pty Ltd., was awarded a vitally-important certification for the Smartcool products from an internationally-recognized research facility that covers the South West Pacific area called Australasia.

The certification from Ecospecifier gives the Australian distributor a much sought after seal of approval from a highly respected independent organization in its sales drive to the area which is comprised of Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea and neighbouring island nations. In total, 32 million people live in Australasia.

"We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this independent verification of Smartcool's advanced technologies" said George Burnes, CEO of Smartcool Systems Inc., "This clearly validates our product's ability to reduce both overall energy consumption, as well as demand during peak hours. Our products also allows customers to claim increased levels of green building rating tool credits"

Ecospecifier, with its associated database of select products, are the preferred verification and product selection company within the Australasia region and is utilized by leading consultants, engineers, architects, developers and facility managers throughout Australasia.

Many associate the program as the southern hemisphere equivalent of the certification required by the US Green Building Council's LEED program.

LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, aimed at improving performance in energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Chris Rogerson, CEO of Smartcool Systems Australia, highlighted the significance of this achievement by stating that, "Having a highly regarded industry group such as Ecospecifier issue this certification serves to confirm the effectiveness of Smartcool's technology and is a significant milestone for the Smartcool brand".

Rogerson added that this industry-recognized certification, which covers Smartcool for both the Green StarTM, as well as the NABERSTM programs, will greatly assist Smartcool in enhancing its brand recognition within the Australian marketplace, as well as with the many projects currently being undertaken around the globe.
